Sobre el denominado "tan(to)" demostrativo en español

    Suele establecerse en la gramática del español una dicotomía entre un tan(to) demostrativo, pero no comparativo, y un tan(to) comparativo. Son objetivos de este trabajo demostrar la no pertinencia de esta distinción, presentar el denominado tan(to) demostrativo no comparativo como resultado de la mera elisión del segundo constituyente del cuantificador comparativo de igualdad “tan(to) + coda”, establecer las condiciones con textuales y/o situacionales que permiten la supresión de la coda, y asumir la imposibilidad de elidir el constituyente tan(to) en el cuantificador comparativo.

    A dichotomy between a demonstrative, but not comparative, tan(to), and a comparative tan(to) is usually established in the grammar of Spanish. The aims of this article are to demonstrate the irrelevance of this distinction, to present the so ‐called non‐ comparative demonstrative tan(to) as a result of the mere elision of the second constituent of the comparative quantifier of equality "tan(to) + coda", to establish the contextual and/or situational conditions that allow the deletion of the coda, and to account for the impossibility of deleting the constituent tan(to) in the comparative quantifier.
