  La cueva de Tito Bustillo (Ribadesella, Asturias) es uno de los principales conjuntos artísticos del Paleolítico Superior europeo, además de reunir un cúmulo de dataciones único en el panorama, 46 dataciones de C14 y 8 de U/Th. Desde sus inicios hubo interés en conocer el desarrollo cronológico de sus manifestaciones, tanto artísticas como materiales, y en esos momentos las fechas se remitieron a los niveles excavados, pertenecientes a momentos avanzados del Magdaleniense cantábrico. Más adelante se hicieron varios programas de datación directa de las pinturas por C14 AMS y se realizaron nuevas excavaciones que ampliaron el horizonte cronológico hasta los primeros momentos del desarrollo cultural del Paleolítico Superior, coincidiendo en gran parte las obtenidas por el sistema C14 AMS con las procedentes del programa U/Th y otorgando fechas en torno al 32.000 BP para el inicio de la decoración de la cueva.

  The Tito Bustillo Cave ( Ribadesella ) is one of the major art ensembles of European Upper Paleolithic , in addition to meet a unique cluster in the dating scene, 46 C14 dating of and 8 U / Th. From the beginning we had interested in the chronological development of its manifestations, both artistic and material, and at that time the dates were referred to the excavated levels belonging to advanced Cantabrian Magdalenian times . Afterwards several programs of direct dating of the paintings were made by AMS C14 and new excavations enlarged the time horizon to the early times of the Upper Paleolithic cultural development , coinciding largely the C14 obtained by the AMS system with those from U / Th dates and providing around dates of 32,000 BP for the start of the cave decoration program.
