Este artículo expone los aspectos centrales de su crítica a la teoría neoliberal y al “mercado capitalista como ser supremo”. Hinkelammert realizó un profundo cuestionamiento de dicha teoría entre 1970 y 1984. En sus últimos libros, especialmente en El totalitarismo del mercado, ofrece una crítica a la religión del mercado. Estas indagaciones forman parte de un programa de investigaciones que: a) constituye una excepcional interpretación sobre las crisis de las sociedades contemporáneas y su religión del mercado; b) desarrolla su respuesta de “el humanismo de la praxis” de Marx, fundado en el principio que “el hombre es el ser supremo para el hombre”.

This paper presents the central aspects of Hinkelammert`s critique of neoliberal theory and the "capitalist market as supreme being". He made a profound questioning of this theory between 1970 and 1984. In his last books he offers a questioning of the religion of the market, especially in The Totalitarianism of the Market. These investigations are part of his research program, which: a) constitutes an exceptional interpretation of the crises of contemporary societies and their market religion; b) his response is Marx's "praxis humanism", based on the principle of "man as supreme being for man".
