Resumen de La ciudad y el cuerpo en la obra de Santiago Calatrava y Oscar Niemeyer

Partiendo de la relación que el cuerpo establece con el espacio que habita, recorre u ocupa, me propongo en este artículo profundizar en ella, apoyándome en las obras arquitectónicas del valenciano Santiago Calatrava y el brasileño Oscar Niemeyer. Trataré el proceso denominado “corporeización” de la ciudad –la ciudad convertida en cuerpo desde sus edificios– teniendo en cuenta que la arquitectura está hecha por y para las personas, por lo que el cuerpo humano constituye un importante instrumento para el diseño de las obras que conforman el espacio urbano

This essay explores the relation that the body establishes with the space it inhabits, occupies or dwells in, using the architechtonic works of the Valencian writer Santiago Calatrava and the Brazilian author Oscar Niemeyer as a point of departure. I will examine the process of the “corporealization” of the city –that is, the city transformed into a body, into a corporeal entity, by means of it’s buildings, structures and edifices– keeping in mind that architecture is made both for and by people, so that the human body inevitably constitutes an important instrument in the design of works that configure urban spaces.
