Resumen de Por último como operador argumentativo en español: Función pragmática y variación regional con datos del corpus PRESEEA

El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar el funcionamiento pragmático de por último en el español de Santiago de Chile, en particular, y su variación regional en comunidades de la lengua española, en general, empleando el corpus PRESEEA. Los resultados muestran que la locución adverbial por último asume, en los materiales de español chileno, una función preponderante como operador argumentativo de limite escalar para indicar la opción menos preferible, pero suficiente, en una secuencia argumentativa, valor al que también se ha llamado "consolatorio". Este valor pragmático contrasta con la función discursiva que se le atribuye a por último a nivel del español estándar y que es característica de la modalidad escrita de esta lengua, es decir, la de un ordenador de cierre con valor conclusivo. Asimismo, la función de por último como operador argumentativo de "premio de consolación" no fue hallada en otras comunidades de habla diferentes a la de Santiago con materiales del PRESEEA. Este hallazgo nos lleva a concluir que se trata de un uso idiosincrásico de la variedad de español de Chile de la cual la muestra del habla capitalina es, en gran medida, representativa.

The aim of this paper is to determine the pragmatic functioning of por último in the Spanish of Santiago, Chile specifically as well as its regional variation in Spanish language communities in general, using the PRESEEA corpus. The results show that the adverbial phrase por último assumes, in Chilean Spanish materials, a preponderant function as an argumentative operator of scalar limit to indicate the least preferable option, but sufficient, in an argumentative sequence, a value that has also been called "consolation". This pragmatic value contrasts with the discursive function that is attributed to por último at the level of standard Spanish and that is characteristic of the written form of this language, that is, that of a closing organizer with conclusive value. Likewise, the function of por último as an argumentative operator of the "consolation's prize" was not found in other speaking communities different from that of Santiago with PRESEEA materials. This result leads us to conclude that it is an idiosyncratic use of the Chilean variety of Spanish, of which the sample of the capital's speech is, to a great extent, representative.
