Resumen de Productividad en el ISI de los investigadores mexicanos y consolidados (nivel III) del SNI, en Physics Multidisciplinary, 1996-2003

  En este artículo mostramos la productividad alcanzada por los investigadores mexicanos consolidados, nivel III, del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI), en las disciplinas definidas por el Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) a partir del número de publicaciones mexicanas de 1996 a 2003. Utilizamos el criterio de Bauwens (1998) para llevar a cabo un ranking por institución y autor individual en la disciplina del ISI con la mayor concentración de publicaciones mexicanas, es decir, Physics Multidisciplinary. Este análisis bibliométrico sirvió para identificar a los investigadores mexicanos consolidados que mostraron el mayor respaldo internacional, como realmente lo es el publicar en revistas de calidad ISI. El principal hallazgo es que los investigadores nivel III tienen un nivel de publicación ISI escaso (promedio anual de 0.4 artículos por investigador), y representa 18% de las publicaciones mexicanas en el ISI. La Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y el Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (Cinvestav) fueron las instituciones con más citas en el campo Physics Multidisciplinary.

  In this article we show the productivity achieved by Consolidated Mexican researchers, level III of the National System of Researchers (SNI) in the disciplines defined by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), using the number of Mexican publications from 1996 to 2003. So, we use the criterion Bauwens to perform a ranking by institution and individual author in the discipline of ISI with the highest concentration of Mexican publications, namely, Multidisciplinary Physics. This bibliometric analysis was used to detect the bound Mexican researchers showed the highest international support, as it really is to publish quality in ISI journals. The main finding is that researchers III level, have a low level of ISI publication (annual average of 0.4 articles per researcher), representing the 18% of Mexican publications in the ISI. The UNAM and Cinvestav institutions were more appointments in the Physics Multidisciplinary field.
