This publication covers the presentation of a detailed index of proposed identifiations for the geographical terms in the Byzantine epic poem “Digenis Akritis” (early 12th century), as preserved in the manuscript of Escorial (mid. 15th century). In a brief introduction the researcher notes that the scientific community now widely accepts that the Escorial manuscript of Akritis preserves authentically the original redaction. One of its authentic elements is the historicity of the mentioned geographical terms. These are the terms included in the index that the scholar cites. Relative verses are given, while there is a detailed report on the proposed identifiations for each term. The study concludes with a relative bibliography.

Η παρούσα δημοσίευση αφορά στην παρουσίαση ενός αναλυτικού πίνακα προτεινόμενων ταυτίσεων για τους γεωγραφικούς όρους του βυζαντινού έπους του Διγενή Ακρίτη (αρχές 12ου αι), όπως αυτό διασώζεται στο χειρόγραφο Escorial (μέσα 15ου αι). Σε σύντομη εισαγωγή ο μελετητής επισημαίνει πως η επιστημονική κοινότητα αποδέχεται πλέον ευρέως πως το χειρόγραφο Escorial του Ακρίτη διασώζει αυθεντικά την αρχική σύνταξη του κειμένου. Ένα από τα στοιχεία αυθεντικότητας του κειμένου είναι και η ιστορικότητα των αναφερόμενων σ’ αυτό γεωγραφικών όρων. Αυτούς τους όρους περιλαμβάνει ο πίνακας που ο μελετητής παραθέτει. Σ’ αυτόν δίνονται οι σχετικοί στίχοι, ενώ γίνεται αναλυτική αναφορά στις προτεινόμενες ταυτίσεις για κάθε όρο. Η μελέτη ολοκληρώνεται με τη σχετική βιβλιογραφία.
