The contribution investigates the function of Dante in Sanguineti’s ‘poem’ Laborintus (1956). The analysis moves along two tracks that then inevitably converge: on the one hand, the linguistic presences of Dante in the Laborintus path, on the other hand, the author’s Dantean attitude starting from the treatment of verbal materials. Through the investigation of the critical pages, we come to understand how Sanguineti places Dante in the history of Italian literature, and therefore what he represents, since it is from an idea of Dante as anti-bourgeois because prebourgeois and feudal that Sanguineti takes his cue; on the level of writing, instead, Dante concretely represents extreme availability and total openness to all the solicitations of reality.
