    El objeto de este estudio fue analizar la Orientación Motivacional en función del carácter individual o grupal del deporte practicado, el sexo y su nivel competitivo. Para ello se estudió a 435 deportistas federados (futbol, balonmano, natación o atletismo) mayores de 14 años. Se utilizó la versión española del Cuestionario de Orientación Motivacional en el Deporte (Duda, 1989). Los resultados respecto a la OM mostraron que quienes practican deportes colectivos, están más Orientados a la tarea, siendo que la comparación social en el trabajo en equipo, se hace menos evidente que en los deportes individuales. Además, en entornos deportivos competitivos las chicas se muestran significativamente más orientadas a la tarea que los chicos, quienes están más orientados al ego. Y por último los y las deportistas que compiten a nivel estatal obtienen valores medios de orientación hacia la tarea significativamente más altos que quienes lo hacen a menor nivel.

    The purpose of this study was to analyze Goal Orientations (GO) (acording whit Achievement Goal Theory) depending to the individual or group nature of the sport practiced, sex and their competitive level. To do this, it was carried out by quota sampling, with 435 federated athletes (soccer, handball, swimming or athletics) over 14 years of age. To measure the socio-demographic variables, an “ad-hoc” questionnaire was created together with the already validated questionnaire; the Questionnaire of Motivational Orientation to the ego and to the task in Sport (Duda, 1989). Results regarding GO showed that athletes who compete at the state level obtain significantly higher mean task GO values being that the social comparison in teamwork is less evident than in individual sports.

    In competitive sports settings, girls are significantly more task-oriented than boys.

    On the other hand, boys are more Ego-oriented than girls.

    Athletes who compete at the state level obtain significantly higher mean task orientation values than those who compete at a lower level.
