Resumen de Defender el territorio en tiempos de pandemia en México

  Para muchos pueblos y comunidades que habitan en suelo mexicano, la pandemia, resultado de la expansión del virus SARS-COV-2, ha significado penuria y zozobra, con la salud y la vida en vilo, pero también un tiempo de alerta y reorganización ante la profundización de las amenazas contra los territorios por parte del Gobierno nacional. Así ha sido para la Asamblea de Defensores del Territorio Maya Múuch’ Xíinbal, que hace frente al Tren Maya, y para el Frente de Pueblos en Defensa de la Tierra, el Agua, y el Aire de Morelos, Puebla y Tlaxcala (Fpdta-MPT), que resiste contra el Proyecto Integral Morelos (PIM). En las siguientes páginas esbozaremos una mirada sobre lo que la pandemia ha implicado para la lucha de ambas organizaciones.

  For many peoples and communities that inhabit Mexican soil, the SARS-COV-2 pandemic has meant the hardship and anxiety for their health and lifes in suspense, but it has also been a time of alert and reorganization, since the government has gone forward in its threats to the territories. This has been the case for the communities organized in the Assembly of Defenders of the Mayan Territory Múuch ‘Xíinbal, who face the Mayan Train, and for the People’s Front in Defense of Land, Water, and Air of Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala (Fpdta-MPT), that resist the Proyecto Integral Morelos (PIM). In the following pages we will take a look at what the pandemic has implied for the struggle of both organizations.
