Resumen de Pensando as relações entre música e História

For a long time, researchers in the history of music in Brazil have concentrated their analysis on musical lyrics, showing them as an important means of understanding a society. With this, music was putting as a reflection of the thinking of a certain social group. Although, these visions limited the research potential that it can provide us to understand our society. This article proposes to discuss some ways to work with this source, failing to see it only as something passive, but also as a place where social relations are reformulated, thus being an important means of social construction. The idea of this text is not to exhaust the possibilities of examining the theme, but to present authors who bring different perspectives on the way of researching music, which can help in future historical research and in classroom activites.

Por muito tempo, as pesquisas da História da música no Brasil focaram suas análises nas letras, usando-as como importante meio de se entender uma sociedade. Com isso, a canção foi colocada como o reflexo do pensamento de certo grupo social. Porém, essas visões limitavam o potencial de exploração que ela pode nos fornecer. Este artigo propõe discutir algumas formas de se trabalhar com essa fonte, deixando de vê-la apenas como algo passivo, mas também como um lugar onde as relações sociais são reformuladas. A ideia desse texto não é esgotar as possibilidades de exame sobre o tema, mas de apresentar autores que trazem olhares diferentes sobre a forma de se trabalhar a música, podendo ajudar em futuras pesquisas e nas atividades em sala de aula.
