Astrologia e astronomia: os paralelos entre a crença e a ciência

    Os questionamentos são marcos na trajetória da humanidade que influenciaram na constante busca em compreender os fenômenos e os mistérios do mundo. Nas mais diversas civilizações, as sociedades utilizavam da observação acerca das periodicidades dos astros para sobreviverem no meio ambiente. No entanto, com base no pensamento da época, as interferências astrais nos fenômenos naturais eram averiguadas de forma transcendental, legitimando, assim, culturalmente, a astrologia. Entretanto, por meio dos conhecimentos atuais, é possível afirmar que a astrologia constitui uma crença, antagônica à astronomia, ciência submetida à lógica racional. Com a experimentação colocada como parte essencial da ciência, o método científico se edifica, e a astrologia se torna uma superstição, refutada pelas novas descobertas científicas, tais como a lei da gravitação universal e o movimento de precessão da Terra. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo afirmar que a astrologia não é, cientificamente, verdade, a partir dos resultados de uma pesquisa realizada com 102 pessoas sobre a possível existência de uma correlação entre as fases da Lua e o nascimento dos entrevistados. Além disso, será descrito, ao longo do trabalho, como os astros verdadeiramente têm influência na Terra. Hoje, como consequência da intensificação da pós-verdade em argumentos infundados e incoerentes, a ciência tem sido negligenciada, acarretando um grande retrocesso social. Assim, essa simples pesquisa, realizada com propósitos educacionais, revela a importância do debate e da reflexão crítica acerca das informações que recebemos.

    The questionings are milestones in the course of humanity that influenced the constant search to comprehendthe phenomena and the mysteries of the world. In the various civilizations, societies used the observationabout the periodicities of the celestial bodies to survive in nature. However, based on the thoughts of thattime, the astral influence in the natural phenomena was analysed in a transcendental way, legitimizing, thus,culturally, the astrology. In spite of that, by means of the current knowledge, it is possible to attest thatastrology constitutes a belief, antagonistic to the astronomy, a science submitted to a rational logic. As wellas the experimentation is considered as an essencial part of the science, the scientific method got built and,then, astrology became a superstition, refuted by the new scientific discoveries, such as the law of universalgravitation and the Earth’s movement of precession. This present article intends to affirm that astrology is,scientifically, not true by the results of a research carried out with 102 people about the possible existence of acorrelation between the phases of the Moon and the birth of the interviewees. Besides this, it will be described,along this essay, how the heavenly bodies really have influence on Earth. Nowadays, as a consequence of theintensification of the post-truth, with the dissemination of unfounded and incoherent arguments, science hasbeen neglected, causing a great social setback. Along these lines, this simple research, realized on educationalpurposes, revels the importante of the debate and critical reflection about the information that we receive.
