    The evolutionary dimension of family sense throughout history is analyzed, in the light of the interpretative premises of the concepts of closed and open society, elaborated by Karl Popper. It addresses the legislative diplomas that preceded the democratic transition of the family operated by the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988. It investigates the challenges that the recognition of new family configurations impose on the democratization of the family on the national scene.

    Analisa-se a dimensão evolutiva do sentido de família ao longo da história, à luz das premissas interpretativas dos conceitos de sociedade fechada e aberta, elaborados por Karl Popper. Abordam-se os diplomas legislativos que precederam a transição democrática da família operada pela Constituição Federal brasileira de 1988. Investigam-se os desafios que o reconhecimento de novas configurações familiares impõem à democratização da família no cenário nacional.
