    A partir de la más reciente obra de Amartya Sen, este texto ofrece una revisión a la pugna entre razones egoístas y altruistas como cimientos del desarrollo en clave de justicia. Con base en contribuciones de John Rawls y Douglass North, se propone un enfoque neoinstitucionalista que aboga por la importancia de las reglas, luego, de la mano de Adam Smith, se aborda la apuesta por el papel de los sentimientos morales en la deliberación de cuestiones públicas; por último, se indaga por el rol que juegan reglas y sentimientos en la búsqueda del desarrollo centrada en un humanismo auténtico.

    From the most recent work of Amartya Sen, this text is a review of the struggle between self-interested and altruist reasons as a development foundation in justice as a background. Based on contributions from John Rawls and Douglass North, it proposes a neoinstitutionalist approach that highlights the relevance of the rules, then, according to Adam Smith, it describes the role of the moral feelings in the public questions’ deliberation: It shows at the end the function of rules and feelings in the development pursuing centered on authentic humanism.
