Com base na teoria semiótica da cul-tura e da mídia e suas interfaces com as teorias do consumo, este trabalho apresenta parte dos resultados finais da pesquisa, Rádio e memória em programas portugueses, desenvol-vida junto ao Centro de Estudos em Música e Mídia (MusiMid/ECAUSP) como parte integrante da pesquisa coletiva, Trago o fado nos sentidos (CNPq - Edital Universal). Este paper analisa o dialogo entre a permanência e as transformações desta programa-ção, em São Paulo, com a história da imigração portuguesa para a cidade paulista, a história de vida de seus ouvintes, representada pela biografia de uma das entrevistadas, e a discus-são do consumo simbólico e afetivo do fado que fala à memória sonora do imigrante para reconstruir imaginária e simbolicamente seu lugar de origem.

Based on the semiotic theory of culture and media as well as the interfaces with consumption theories, this study presents part of the final results of the research, ‘Radio and memory in Portuguese progra-ms’, conducted at the Center of Studies in Music and Media (Musimid-ECAUSP) as part of the collective search ‘Bring the fado in the senses’ (CNPq - Edital Universal). This paper evaluates the dialogue between continuity and changes of these programs broadcast in São Paulo on the history of the Portuguese immigration to the city of São Paulo, life experiences of the audience represented by the biography of one of the participants, and the discussion about the symbolic and emotional consumption of fado, approaching to the sound-related memory of immigrants to reconstruct, in imaginary and symbolic way, their country of origin.
