    El humanista aragonés Braulio Foz participó a través de diversos escritos en el trascendental debate que discutía sobre la construcción del Estado nacional español, solicitando la implantación para la comunidad nacional de algunos de los antiguos fueros, libertades e instituciones aragonesas. Para ello Foz alegó su superioridad con respecto al Derecho y a las instituciones tanto castellanas como del resto de los antiguos reinos, por su decidida apuesta por la libertad y por su no contradicción con los postulados del Derecho natural. Para fundamentar su postura elaboró un sistema iusfilosófico propio, en el que la voluntad constituía la principal cualidad del ser humano, siendo su principal función el cumplimiento de toda una serie de necesidades naturales que daban forma a la auténtica esencia del Derecho natural.

    The Aragonese humanist Braulio Foz participated through some writings in the transcendental debate that discussed the construction of the Spanish national state, requesting the implementation for the national community of some of the old Aragonese fueros, freedoms and institutions. For that, Foz will argue its superiority to law and institutions both Castilian and the rest of ancient kingdoms, for its determined commitment to freedom and their no contradiction with the principles of natural law. To support his position, he elaborated his own legal philosophical system, in wich the will, whose major purpose is to satisfacy a whole series of natural needs that make up the true essence of the natural law, was the main feature of the human being.
