    Priscillian was not a follower of Origen of Alexandria. Yet, his writings show the influence of both the secrets of the heavenly world and the godly names, as transmitted by Origen. Priscillian had access to Origen’s works either directly in Greek or Latin in a pre-rufinian version or indirectly through the works of Hilary of Poitiers, or else thanks to a monk coming from Egypt who was a follower of Origen and exiled in Hispania under the protection of Melania the Elder. In the light of recent work, this study aims to deepen the substrate of a biblical tradition which Priscillian’s christianism would have inherited through Origen.

    Priscillien n’est ni origénien ni origéniste. Ses écrits sont influencés, d’une part, par le domaine des secrets du monde céleste et des noms divins transmis par Origène et, d’autre part, par une exégèse scripturaire inspirée par Origène. Priscillien a eu connaissance des œuvres d’Origène soit directement en grec ou en latin par une version pré-rufinienne, soit indirectement par les œuvres d’Hilaire de Poitiers, soit encore par le christianisme d’un moine origéniste provenant d’Egypte, en exil en Hispanie, sous la protection de Mélanie l’Ancienne. Le but de cette étude est d’approfondir le substrat d’une tradition biblique dont aurait hérité le christianisme de l’évêque d’Avila via Origène, à la lumière des travaux récents.
