Specific topics dealt with include: geography, history, and dialect areas; vowel system (stressed vowels; diphthongs; unstressed vowels); consonant system; syllabic structure; syllable templates; syllable structure and sentence phonetics; stress; nominal morphology (gender, number, case), adjectives; pronouns and determiners; derivational morphology; verb morphology (verb classes, person marking, verb stems); tenses formed on the present indicative stem; infinitive and future and conditional; preterite and forms built on the preterite; present subjunctive; syntax of ssubject clitics; constituent order; subject inversion; topicalization and focalization; enunciatives; subordination and the complementizer que; alternative subordination types; object clitics; negation; agreement; sequences of mood and tenses.
