  • This article considers the Livre des fais d’armes et de chevalerie by Christine de Pizan from a philological point of view. Thanks to the genetic edition we have publish of this xvth century military treatise, we have gathered some interesting variations, due to the author herself, between three different states of the text, ω, ω’ and ω’’. The philological discovery that Christine de Pizan wrote two distinct versions of the Fais d’armes (ω, then ω’ and ω’’ with minor differences between them) leads us to propose a stylistic analysis of a recurrent modification of the syntax by the author herself, who preferred to use an archaic syntax in her second version of the Livre des fais d’armes. This article aims to foster further studies on the writing process of Christine de Pizan
