    El bicentenario del nacimiento del filósofo alemán Karl Marx (1818-1883) ha contribuido a aumentar el interés por su doctrina filosófica, donde destaca su importancia para la configuración moderna de diversas ramas de la ciencia humana y social. Centrándonos en las repercusiones teóricas y metodológicas que tuvo para el conocimiento de la historia y en las principales lecturas historiográficas que de ellas se han derivado hasta el presente, queremos explicar cuáles han resistido el paso del tiempo, su consiguiente avance a medida que lo ha hecho la propia disciplina histórica, y cuáles han sido superadas. Así como comprobar cuál ha sido la influencia que la teoría marxista de la historia ha tenido en distintos historiadores contemporáneos. Todo con el fin de saber si se trata de una teoría todavía vigente y por ende útil en el siglo XXI.

    The bicentennial of the birth of the German philosopher Karl Marx (1818-1883) has contributed to increasing the interest in his philosophical doctrine, and its importance for the modern configuration of various branches of human and social science. Focusing on the theoretical and methodological repercussions that it had for the knowledge of history and on the main historiographic readings that have been derived from them up to the present, we want to explain which ones have resisted the passage of time, their consequent advancement as historical discipline itself has done, and which have been overcome. As well as to verify what has been the influence that the Marxist theory of history has had on different contemporary historians. All in order to know if it is a theory still in force and therefore useful in the XXI century.
