The marked and growing attention of the public administrations to this type of buildings, besides the campaigns of the hygienists, they cooperated to the creation of unpublished models; in which the pavilion structure was the most accepted one. These novel approaches on the hospital architecture will show fully in Cuba during the XIX century, where diverse experiences are verified throughout the island. The contribution of the military engineers of the Spanish army was essential for the development of these knowledge in overseas territories, because they were the main planners of these constructive efforts. The present work analyzes the events related with the building-hospital in the Cuban main cities of the nineteenth period and it evaluates the importance of these facts for the history of the cuban architecture.
