    L’objectiu d’aquest article és aproximar-nos al coneixement del paisatge agrari baixmedieval d’Elx a través de les dades del Fitament del bovalar de 1435, amb què el Consell de la vila d’Elx delimità la zona d’exclusió de pasturatge per evitar conflictes entre ramaders forans i agricultors. La qualitat del document ens permet anar més enllà de les dades directes, deduir els trets que ens manifesta un paisatge amagat i, per consegüent, entendre en perspectiva la intricada història d’aquest territori i, alhora, valorar-lo des d’un punt de vista patrimonial, com herència que cal ponderar i protegir.

    The aim of this paper is to approach the knowledge of the Late Medieval agrarian landscape of Elx through the data offered by the 1435 Pasture Demarcation document, where the Local Council set the delimitation of the pasture space to avoid conflicts between foreigner stockbreeders and local farmers.

    The quality of the document allows us to go beyond the direct data, looking for the features that show us a hidden landscape. Consequently, we try to understand the intricate history of this territory and, at the same time, to vindicate its patrimonial value as heritage to be appreciated and defended.
