La interpretación musical a través de la historia ha estado sujeta a una variedad de prácticas didácticas a menudo centrada en la enseñanza musical en instituciones como puede ser la iglesia, la corte, la universidad o el conservatorio. En este trabajo hemos contrapuesto dos maneras de encuadrar la enseñanza de la interpretación del primer movimiento de la Sonata Nº 2 de Brahms a partir del análisis de dos clases magistrales de reconocidos clarinetistas disponibles en línea. La relación entre teoría y praxis musical, presente a lo largo de toda la historia de la música, es el eje temático que atraviesa nuestro trabajo.
