    Este trabajo pretende ofrecer un panorama general de los estudios clásicos en España, dentro del periodo cronológico señalado en el título. Ahora bien, como puede comprobarse a partir de las aportaciones indicadas con un asterisco en la bibliografía, las contribuciones dedicadas al helenismo en España son muchas y de gran rigor; se han elaborado, en su mayoría, en los últimos tres decenios y, casi todas, dentro de la misma escuela filológica. En cambio, la historia de los estudios latinos en nuestro país ofrece todavía muchas lagunas.

    Examinada en conjunto la historia de los estudios clásicos en España, dentro de los límites cronológicos indicados, puede llegarse a la conclusión de que se repiten, una y otra vez, las situaciones de abandono y desidia oficial hacia el griego y el latín, así como las quejas de los especialistas ante la incapacidad del Estado para resolver las graves dificultades por las que han atravesado nuestras disciplinas.

    This work sets our to offer a general panorama of classical studies in Spain, within the chronological period indicated in the title. As the contribution's indicated with an asterisk in the bibliography demonstrate, the contributions devotes to Hellenism in Spain are both numerous and thorough. There were developed, for the most part, in the last three decades and, nearly all, within the same philological school. On the other hand, the history of the Latin studies in Spain contains many gaps.

    Taken as a whole the history of classical studies in Spain, within the indicated chronological limits, clearly demonstrates that time and again the situations of official neglect and carelessness towards Greek and Latin are repeated meeting with the complaints of the specialists before the disability of the State to solve the serious difficulties that confront our disciplines.
