    Algunos escultores españoles enviaron obras al Nuevo Mundo, en cambio otros se desplazaron al continente en busca de mejor fortuna. Allí crearon sus propios talleres trasladando a los nuevos territorios la plástica y estilo imperantes en la península ibérica. En el presente artículo se analizan una serie de escultores españoles asentados en el virreinato del Perú entre el último tercio del siglo XVI y finales del siglo XVII, así como algunas de sus obras más representativas.

    Some Spanish sculptors sent works to the New World, while others travelled to America in search of a better fortune. In the new territories, they established their own workshops that helped in the transmission to America of the artistic styles of the Iberian Peninsula. This article analyzes a series of Spanish sculptors stablished in the Viceroyalty of Peru between the last third of the 16th century and the end of the 17th century.
