This article tries to study, mainly through the analysis of their texts, the actions of the Liberals in the Spanish province of Leon during the Old Regime crisis (1808-1833). In 1815 all of them were prosecuted. Later, during the Trienio Liberal they devoted themselves, with great enthusiasm and limited succes, to the defence of the Constitution and the Liberal Institutions. The Second Absolutist Restoration (1823) meant practically the end of their political and intellectual activity.
