    Con el doble propósito de dotar de superior legitimidad a los compromisos asumidos por las partes y hacer que los trabajadores acojan de mejor grado la decisión que pudiera afectarles, no son pocos los convenios que, en vez de negar de forma expresa o tácita el abono de cualquier cantidad a resultas de la extinción del contrato por razón del cumplimiento de edad de retiro obligatorio, consideran oportuno concederles mejoras voluntarias bajo la forma de premios, complementos, indemnizaciones u otras figuras varias. A su examen, con atención específica a la situación que afecta a los trabajadores al servicio de la Administración, aparece dedicado el ensayo.

    With the dual purpose of given greater legitimacy to the commitments assumed by the parties, and making the workers more willing to accept the decision that may affect them, there are many agreements that, instead of expressly or tacitly denying the payment of any compensation derived from the termination of the contract due to reaching the mandatory retirement age, they consider it appropriate to grant them voluntary improvements in the form of awards, allowances, indemnities, or various other figures. The following essay is dedicated to their examination, with specific attention to the situation affecting employees in the service of the Administration.
