    En este trabajo se exponen valoraciones sobre el impacto positivo de una serie de acciones orientadas desde una estrategia para la formación pedagógica inicial que se desarrolla en la carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, de la UCLV, estas acciones están encaminadas a lograr una  disciplina  coherente  con  el  cuidado  del  medio  ambiente,  y  se  ofrecen   algunas iniciativas tomadas al desarrollar el  proceso docente educativo, para fomentar la Educación Ambiental en los estudiantes de la carrera a partir del primer año académico.

    This work exposes evaluations on the positive impact of several actions from a strategy to develop initial teacher training in the career of Mechanical Engineering UCLV's. These actions have as main objective to achieve a coherent relation with protection of the environment. Also some other hints are given in order to develop the environmental education in the teaching- learning process in this career.
