    El artículo aborda el empleo de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TIC) para promover el intercambio de conocimientos a través de las redes informáticas. Se presenta una síntesis del desarrollo de las redes globales de información, destacándose las ideas básicas del surgimiento de Internet y el papel de la web en la sociedad actual. Asimismo, se particularizan estos temas para el ámbito educativo, analizándose como las redes se han convertido en un excelente apoyo para la elevación de la calidad de la actividad científica educacional. Por último se presentan ejemplos de redes informáticas en el área educativa, que pueden integrar participantes de procedencia internacional, nacional, provincial e institucional para promover la interacción, el trabajo colaborativo entre sus miembros, así como el intercambio crítico de conocimientos y experiencias.

    The article approaches the use of the Technologies of Information and Communications (TIC) in order to promote the interchange of knowledge through the computer science networks. A synthesis of the development of the global networks of information appears, standing out the basic ideas of the sprouting of Internet and the role of the web in the present society. Also, these subjects for the educative scope are distinguished, analyzing the networks as excellent support to elevate the quality of the educational scientific activity. Finally examples of computer science networks in the educative area that can integrate participants of international, national, provincial and institutional origin to promote the interaction, the collaborative work between their members, as well as the critical interchange of knowledge and experiences are presented.
