    Engastada en la tan rica como extraordinaria Historia militar de la Casa de AUSTRIA hay una proeza: el camino español, eje logístico de la Guerra de los Países Bajos para España. Se trata del primer itinerario utilizado por los Tercios viejos encabezados por el Duque de ALBA en 1567. Siempre citado pero no estudiado en sí, además de la reconstitución geográfi ca y de los acontecimientos diarios de la jornada entre Italia y Flandes, el autor expone los antecedentes geo-políticos en el marco de la Monarquía Hispánica.

    There is a rich as wells as extraordinary military exploit set amid the history of the House of Austria : the Spanish Road, a logistic spanish axis in the Netherlands War. It is actually the fi rst itinerary taken by the Tercios viejos under the Duke of ALBA’s leadership. Th is event has been always quoted but never stidied in detail. Before recreating the geografi c route and setting out the material conditions as well as the daily events of the 46 stages between Italy and Flanders, the author explains the geo-political background of this intervention within yhe scope of the Hispanic monarchy.

    He sheds a new light on this previously unpublished study by means of the famous Cassini’s map of french kingdom(XVII-XVIII).
