This work aims to offer an analysis of the true profile of the Jews who settled in the Iberian Peninsula and how they organised themselves, lived their daily lives and related to the rest of society. It also reflects on the relationship between the Jews and the royal power, taking into account the role that the latter played for the former. Subsequently, a contrast is offered between the material Judaic reality and the myths that have been generated throughout the Middle Ages, which also raises a debate on the coexistence or coexistence of the Jews in the Hispanic-Christian nuclei. Finally, we will look at Jewish life in Christian Extremadura, their situation during the Reconquest and the actions of the Inquisition towards them and the Judeo-Converts.
