Resumen de La historia detrás de los Anales de Cuauhtitlan

  Los Anales de Cuauhtitlan son una de las fuentes de información más utilizadas para estudiar la historia prehispánica del centro de México. Como su nombre indica, su relato se centra en la historia de Cuauhtitlan, hoy día Cuautitlán de Romero Rubio, un municipio del Estado de México ubicado al norte de la Ciudad de México. Este documento, al igual que otros del siglo xvi, se hizo con datos procedentes de distintas fuentes alfabéticas, pictográficas y orales, a través de los cuales sus autores lograron insertar a Cuauhtitlan en la historia del centro de México y vincularlo con otros señoríos del área. El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar, a través del análisis filológico, qué fuentes de información emplearon sus autores para su composición y los problemas que el documento presenta, derivados, en buena medida, de su método compositivo.

  The Anales de Cuauhtitlan is one of the most widely used sources of information to study the pre-Hispanic history of Central Mexico. As its name suggests, this story focuses on the history of Cuauhtitlan, today Cuautitlán de Romero Rubio, a municipality in the Estado de México north of Mexico City. This document, like others from the 16th century, was made with data from dif-ferent alphabetic, pictographic, and oral sources, through which its authors managed to situate Cuauhtitlan in the history of Central Mexico and linked it to other domains in the area. The objec-tive of this work is to show, through the philological analysis, what sources of information were used by its authors in its composition and the problems that the document presents, largely as a result of its compositional method.
