Resumen de Entre Roma y el Concilio Vaticano II.Las representaciones religiosas del nacionalismo católico a través del periódico Combate (1955-1967)

En el siguiente artículo se propone analizar las representaciones religiosas del nacionalismo católico argentino a partir del periódico Combate entre 1955 y 1967, período coincidente lato sensu con el Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965). Se considera que el nacionalismo católico ha sido objeto generalmente de la historiografía política desatendiendo la recepción del acontecimiento religioso más importante de la Iglesia católica universal en el siglo XX. A partir de los avances de la historiografía, se sostiene que los redactores de Combate no se opusieron al Vaticano II, aunque sí criticaron fuertemente algunos aspectos del mismo, sino que ofrecieron una interpretación que estresaba la continuidad con la tradición católica.

In the following article, we propose to analyze the religious representations of Argentine Catholic nationalism from the Combate newspaper between 1955 and 1967, a period coinciding lato sensu with the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). It is considered that Catholic nationalism has been the object of study of political historiography, neglecting the reception of the most important religious event of the universal Catholic Church in the 20th century. From the advances of historiography, it is argued that the editors of Combate did not oppose Vatican II, although they did strongly criticize some aspects of it, but rather offered an interpretation that stressed continuity with the Catholic tradition.
