    The advent of the discovery of gold, at the end of the 17th century, transformed the colonial economy. The role of networks in this process was decisive. Analyzing the agents involved in these transactions and their main agencies was the objective of the article. Theresults showed that the trans-imperial networks were operated by important foreign traders established in Lisbon with a strong presence in Rio de Janeiro

    O advento do ouro descoberto, no final do século XVII, transformou-se em uma economia colonial. O papel das redes empresariais neste processo foi decisivo. Analisar os agentes envolvidos nas transações e seus principais órgãos era o objetivo do artigo. Os resultados vão mostrar que as redes transimperiais foram operadas por importantes empresários estrangeiros, estabelecidos em Lisboa e com forte presença na Praça Fluminense.
