La implantología oral como primera opción de tratamiento en desdentamientos parciales y totales

    Se realizó un estudio de 19 artículos referidos a la implantología oral, con el objetivo de crear un material actualizado que sirva al personal estomatológico de referencia bibliográfica en el tema de los implantes. Este tema ha ido adquiriendo una preponderancia cada vez mayor en las últimas décadas, pues son consideradas fijaciones de titanio puro que se colocan en el hueso maxilar o mandibular con el fin de sustituir las raíces de los dientes perdidos, lo que permite reemplazar el diente natural por un diente artificial eficaz. Es por ello que su conocimiento resulta indispensable, pues constituye una alternativa de tratamiento en desarrollo que ofrece una mayor funcionalidad, durabilidad y estética. A su vez, mantener una higiene bucal adecuada es requisito indispensable para dar respuesta a los objetivos de la implantología.

    ABSTRACT A study which comprised 19 articles concerning oral implantology was carried out; it was aimed at creating a state-of- the-art art material on the subject of implantology as a medical literature reference for dentistry personnel. This topic is taking importance during the last decades, considering the pure-titanium fixations place on the maxillary or mandibular bones with the purpose of replacing the roots of the lost teeth, this way the replacement of the natural tooth for an artificial and efficient tooth can be possible. As a result, knowledge of this procedure is indispensable, since it constitutes a developing alternative of treatment offering major function, durability and aesthetics, which at the same time allows an adequate oral hygiene that is indispensable to achieve the objectives of implantology.
