    El siglo XIX representa un momento importante en la historia de las políticas patrimoniales.

    Fue entonces cuando se crearon las primeras estructuras administrativas destinadas a identificar, catalogar, proteger, restaurar y estudiar los restos materiales del pasado.

    Este desafío no es nunca desinteresado. Hay que relacionarlo con la afirmación del Estadonación liberal, deseoso de ilustrar la historia nacional. Este es el tema que queremos abordar en este estudio. También se trata de ofrecer al lector algunas ideas para situar el caso español en un contexto más amplio. La última parte de este artículo, que se centra en el nacimiento de una política patrimonial en Francia (1789-1914), permitirá evocar los puntos comunes y las especificidades de las políticas patrimoniales francesa y española en el siglo XIX.

    The nineteenth century represents an important moment in the history of heritage policies. It was then that the first administrative structures are being put in place, in order to identify, protect, restore and study the material remains of the past. This challenge is never disinterested. It is in relation to the assertion of the liberal nation-state, eager to illustrate the national story. This is the subject that we wanted to broach in this study. It is also to offer the reader a few ideas to place the Spanish case in relation to his context. The last part of this article, which focuses on the birth of a heritage policy in France (1789-1914), will refer to the common features and specificities of French and Spanish heritage policies in the nineteenth century.
