After the confiscation of the nineteenth century, especially the last of Mendizabal and Madoz, a lot of proprieties from the religious power had been taken and selt to private owners. Some of this heritage was doomed to ruin and neglect, because the new owners could not keep the cost of maintaining these immovable. These immovable also possessed inside pieces of art, collections of antiquities and documents that could be lost without remedy.Artistic Provincial Committees took care of this legacy, so they were who gave rise to the first archaeological museums where preserve it.
