    Here I study two ash chests that Eugen Bormann publishes in the CIL among the inscriptions found in Lucca, but which instead come from Rome, through the trade of antiquities. Also I take in consideration the problem of some inscriptions from Rome and kept in Lucca, in some private collections, at least until the second half of the nineteenth century.

    Si prendono qui in esame due cinerari urbani che Eugen Bormann pubblica nel CIL fra le iscrizioni rinvenute a Lucca, ma che, invece, provengono da Roma, attraverso il commercio di antichità. Si presenta anche il problema costituito da un significativo numero di iscrizioni provenienti da Roma e conservate a Lucca in alcune collezioni private, almeno fino alla seconda metà dell’Ottocento.
