    In this paper, thanks to the check on photos, we present a new reading of a cinerarium (CIL XI, 2597) currently kept in the Pavlovsk Palace-Museum (Saint Petersburg) with a discussion of the novelty of the text and a reconstruction of its collecting history; the ash-chest represents a typical Roman production but has been erroneously attributed to Etruria.

    Nel presente contributo, grazie al controllo su riproduzione fotografica, presentiamo una nuova lettura di un cinerarium (CIL XI, 2597), di produzione urbana ma erroneamente attribuito all’Etruria, attualmente conservato al Pavlovsk Palace-Museum, a San Pietroburgo, con una discussione sugli elementi di novità del testo ed una ricostruzione delle sue vicende collezionistiche.
