Resumen de Bibliografías venezolanas y venezolanistas. Un breve recorrido

Este trabajo es un intento de trazar una breve historia de las bibliografías hechas en Venezuela o acerca de Venezuela (“venezolanistas”). Si bien la primera lista elaborada en lo que hoy es Venezuela es el “Inventario” de Juan de Eulate (1633), el primer bibliógrafo en consignar autores de Caracas –en el territorio de lo que más tarde sería Venezuela– fue Juan José de Eguiara y Eguren en su Bibliotheca mexicana. A partir de entonces se hace un recorrido sucinto por las principales listas y bibliografías venezolanas y venezolanistas hasta nuestros días.

This work is an attempt to outline a brief history of the bibliographies made in Venezuela or about Venezuela (“Venezolanists bibliographies”). Although the first list of books made in what is now Venezuela is the “Inventory” of Juan de Eulate (1633), the first bibliographer to record authors from Caracas –in the territory of what would later become Venezuela– was Juan José de Eguiara y Eguren in his Bibliotheca mexicana. From then on, a succinct tour is traced through the main Venezuelan and “Venezolanist” lists and bibliographies up to the present day.
