    La ictericia neonatal es una de las consultas más frecuentes en el servicio de urgencias, que se deriva a neonatología. En este artículo veremos un ejemplo del procedimiento a seguir para medir la bilirrubina del neonato de diferentes modos de menos a más lesivas para el paciente: con la clínica y midiendo de forma cefalocaudal la ictericia, con un capilar transcutáneo, con una gasometría capilar que incluya el valor de la bilirrubina y por último si sale alterado, una extracción sanguínea. También nos centraremos en el tratamiento tanto si es una ictericia fisiológica como patológica y en la realización de un plan de cuidados.

    Neonatal jaundice is one of the most frequent consultations in the emergency department, which is referred to as neonatology. In this article we will see an example of the procedure to be followed to measure the bilirubin of the neonate in different ways from less to more harmful to the patient: with the clinic and measuring in a cephalocaudal way the jaundice, with a transcutaneous capillary, with a capillary gas that includes the value of the bilirubin and finally if a blood extraction is altered. We will also focus on treatment whether it is physiological or pathological jaundice and on the realization of a care plan.
