Resumen de Arzew, una comarca oranesa, refugio para moriscos expulsados e inmigrantes españoles

En este artículo intentamos poner de manifiesto la presencia de la comunidad morisca después de su expulsión definitiva en 1609 y los inmigrantes españoles durante la colonización francesa de Argelia, esto es, a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, en la comarca oranesa de Arzew. A pesar de ser uno de los lugares principales del establecimiento histórico de población migrante procedente de la península ibérica, creemos que no se ha tratado con atención el vínculo hispánico de Arzew. Con el estudio que aquí presentamos nos gustaría resaltar la región de Arzew y su longeva relación histórica con esta minoría morisca y con la corriente migratoria española hacia la Argelia francesa.

In this article we try to highlight the presence of the Morisco community after its definitive expulsion in 1609 and the Spanish immigrants during the French colonization of Algeria, that is, from the second half of the 19th century, in the Oranese region of Arzew. Despite being one of the main places of the historical settlement of the migrant population coming from the Iberian Peninsula, the Hispanic link of Arzew has not been treated with attention. With the study presented here we would like to highlight the region of Arzew and its long historical relationship with this Morisco minority and with the Spanish migratory flow towards French Algeria.
