    En la primera parte del año 2020 la crisis sanitaria del COVID-19 tuvo un enorme impacto negativo sobre el sector turístico. Con el desconfinamiento del verano se produjo un retorno relativo a la actividad, pero muy desigual según territorios y tipos de alojamiento turístico. El objetivo de este estudio es el análisis de la situación de la oferta y la demanda de turismo rural en Cataluña durante el verano de 2020, y su relación con la sostenibilidad. La hipótesis de investigación plantea que el turismo de proximidad experimentó un fuerte crecimiento en Cataluña durante ese período, siendo los espacios rurales y la tipología de establecimiento de turismo rural unos de los principales beneficiados, compensando el descenso del turismo internacional, posibilitando al mismo tiempo la consolidación de prácticas turísticas sostenibles

    In the first part of 2020, the COVID-19 health crisis had a huge negative impact on the tourism sector. With the easing of the lockdown restrictions in the summer there was a relative return to the activity which was very uneven depending on the territories and types of tourist accommodation. The objective of this study is to analyse the situation of supply and demand for rural tourism in Catalonia during the summer of 2020, and its relationship with sustainability. The research hypothesis proposes that proximity tourism experienced strong growth in Catalonia in the summer of 2020, with rural spaces and the type of rural tourism establishment being the main beneficiaries, offsetting the decline in international tourism, enabling, at the same time, the consolidation of sustainable tourism practices
