En este artículo reflexionamos sobre un proceso de investigación social en el que empleamos tecnologías audiovisuales digitales para producir un documental sobre el fenómeno de la migración del Sur de Yucatán a los Estados Unidos. Partimos de una vocación intercultural para propiciar co-autoría en la realización del documental, facilitada por el potencial heurístico y creativo, así como por la accesibilidad, la modularidad y la transcodificación cultural que permiten las actuales tecnologías digitales en el registro y tratamiento audiovisual. Proponemos que estas nuevas escrituras audiovisuales comunican conocimiento de modo afectivo y racional para abrir opciones de difusión del trabajo de la investigación social con múltiples intereses en diversos públicos.

In this article, we reflect on a social research process in which we use digital audiovisual technologies to produce a documentary on the phenomenon of migration from the South of the Yucatan to the United States. We start from an intercultural vocation to promote co-authorship in the realization of the documentary, facilitated by the heuristic and creative potential, as well as by the accessibility, modularity and cultural transcoding that modern digital technologies allow in the audiovisual record and treatment. We propose that these new audiovisual writings communicate knowledge in an affective and rational way to open options for disseminating the work of social research with multiple interests in different audience.
