    La naturaleza es una unidad com-puesta de diversos estratos que se despliegan desde ciertas estructuras matemáticas hasta lo psíquico y lo so-cial, pasando por lo fisicoquímico y lo biológico. El problema examinado en este ensayo es la comprensión de la continuidad entre los estratos. La tesis principal afirma que para asegurar la continuidad natural, de manera subya-cente a estos niveles tiene que existir un flujo, una sustancia más sutil que la materia física, semejante tal vez a la ma-teria prima que Aristóteles brevemente imaginó. Luego las secciones del artícu-lo describen ciertas relaciones entre la materia metafísica y las diferentes con-cepciones de la materia física.

    Nature is a unity composed of several strata: mathematical, physicochemical, biological, psychological and social. The problem examined in the present essay is the understanding of the continuity between them. The main thesis states that in order to insure the natural continuity, underlying these levels it has to exist a substance perhaps like the primary matter imagined by Aristotle, i.e. a stuff more subtle than physical matter. Then the sections in this article describe some relationships between the metaphysical matter and the different conceptions of physical matter.
