The article is devoted to the reflection of faith in God as a value constant, a value constant, in the proverbs of different languages. The research material was the author’s card index, compiled using a continuous sample from dictionaries and including paremias of Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Ruthenian, Kashubian, French, Spanish, Turkish, Chechen, Tajik and Chuvash languages. It is shown that the proverbial fund of languages can be a source of linguoaxiological information. There are listed proverbs that express the attitude of the people to the faith. The nominations of God in proverbs are considered, their frequency is presented.
An analysis of the paremiological fund showed that for representatives of Christian and Muslim linguocultures, the attitude towards God is universal: God is characterized as a higher power, God values person, gives him benefits, but in certain situations calls a person to act on his own, to work hard.
