Espacio intermedio en los pueblos de colonización de Alejandro de la Sota

    En el INC comenzaron sus carreras muchos arquitectos españoles luego reconocidos como ‘maestros’ de la arquitectura moderna española. Proyectaron pueblos para gente del campo. Aunque partieron de unos postulados muy rígidos, pudieron interpretarlos e introducir novedades de interés en ellos. Uno de aquellos arquitectos fue Alejandro de la Sota. En este estudio se presentan sus investigaciones sobre un espacio urbano de relación intermedio entre la plaza institucional y la calle funcional. A través de un recorrido analítico por los cinco pueblos que proyectase De la Sota en colonización, se muestra la gestación y configuración de este espacio novedoso entonces, tratado en paralelo al debate internacional del Team X. El objeto final es poner de manifiesto lo que espacialmente ganaron los pueblos del INC y sus habitantes con estas investigaciones urbanas; el caso de De la Sota es uno de los más interesantes en este aspecto.

    Many Spanish architects later recognized as ‘Master of Modern Spanish architecture began their careers at INC. They designed new tonws for rural people. Although they started from very rigid postulates, they were able to interpret them and introduce interesting novelties in them. One of those architects was Alejandro de la Sota. In this study, his research on an urban space with an intermediate relationship between the institutional square and the functional street is presented. Through an analytical tour of the five towns that De la Sota projected in colonization, the gestation and configuration of this space is shown, treated in parallel to the international debate of Team X. The final objective is to show what spatially The INC New Towns and their inhabitants won with these urban nvestigations; De la Sota’s case is one of the most interesting in this regard.
