    Written in the 2nd century and attributed to Longus, Daphnis and Chloe is a Greek novel set on the island of Lesbos. Two young shepherds, characterized by ignorance, awake to the feeling of love and sexuality. In 1559, Jacques Amyot translated the ancient text, transforming the relationship between humans and nature. The article collates the Greek work — from the manuscript that Amyotread — with the French translation, taking into account the intertextuality of Daphnis and Chloe with some other works of the period.

    Escrito no século II e atribuído a Longo, Dáfnis e Cloé é um romance grego am‐ bientado na ilha de Lesbos. Dois jovens pastores, caracterizados pela ignorância, desco‐ brem o sentimento amoroso e a sexualidade. Em 1559, Jacques Amyot verteu a obra antiga, requalificando a relação entre humanos e natureza. O artigo coteja a obra em grego — a partir do manuscrito que Amyot teve em mãos — com a tradução francesa, levando em consideração a intertextualidade de Dáfnis e Cloé com algumas outras produções textuais do período.
