El mundo de Juego de Tronos es riquísimo en referencias históricas y personajes cé- lebres, que ha plasmado en la pantalla toda una seria de concepciones y estereotipos que pueblan nuestro imaginario colectivo, sobre ciertos grupos y culturas muchas veces entendidas como un elemento externo a la cultura propia, un otro. Esta alte- ridad ha recibido en multitud de ocasiones el título de barbarie bajo la premisa de ser entendida como inferior y así justificar su rechazo. Esta misma concepción, así como sus reflejos históricos, se mezclan de forma brillante con la propia cosmogo- nía de Juego de Tronos, y dan lugar a su propia visión de la civilización y la barbarie.
Es el objetivo de este trabajo analizar y comprender cuales han sido las referencias sobre las que se ha sustentado esta imagen en la ficción televisiva que adapta la obra de G.R.R. Martin.

The world of Game of Thrones is very rich in historical references and famous characters, which has captured on the screen a whole series of conceptions and stereotypes that populate our collective imagination, about certain groups and cul- tures often understood as an external element to our own culture, the other. This alterity has received the title of barbarism on many occasions under the premise of being understood as inferior and thus justifying its rejection. This same con- ception, as well as its historical reflections, brilliantly blended with the Game of Thrones cosmogony itself, giving rise to its own vision of civilization and barba- rism. It is the objective of this paper to analyze and understand which have been the references on which this image has been sustained in the television fiction that adapts the work of G.R.R. Martin.
