    En el presente artículo, se analizan las implicaciones neuro-psico-sociales de las emociones como proceso plástico y consustancial al proceso más amplio que es la persona, la sociedad y la cultura. Se propugna y defiende, para la adecuada comprensión de las emociones, una visión transversal que aúne sociología, neurología y psicología. Asimismo se analiza la hipótesis de que sin entorno social, las emociones no existirían. Habiendo surgido en un entorno social, si la finalidad social se extingue, las emociones también se extinguen. Las células del cerebro mueren (y, con ellas, las emociones) si no se usan. Por otra parte, si el sistema cerebral no se potencia medioambientalmente, el cerebro y su desarrollo quedan perturbados y la naturaleza humana no se materializa. Se sugiere que algunos tipos de emociones son imprescindibles para el pensamiento racional. Los sentimientos y la razón están íntimamente interconectados. Finalmente, se perfila el proceso de imitación como el detonante de la socialización sobre la base de las neuronas espejo lo que explica una amplia gama del comportamiento del ser humano incluyendo el lenguaje, la imitación, la transmisión cultural, las emociones y la cognición social.

    This paper addresses the neuro-psico-sociological implications of emotions as a plastic process inherent to the process, which constitutes the person, the society and the culture.  We advocate and defend, in order emotions to be properly understood, a transversal science, which links sociology, neurology and psychology. Additionally, we analyze the hypothesis that, without social environment, emotions would not exist. Once produced within the social environment, if the social purpose extinguishes, emotions also extinguish. Brain cells die (and, with them, emotions) if not used. On the other hand, if brain systems are not environmentally boosted, brains and their development are disrupted, and the human nature does not materialize. We suggest that some kinds of emotions are essential for rational thinking. Feelings and reason are intimately interrelated. Finally, we outline the imitation process as the trigger of the human being socialization on the basis of the mirror neurons, which explains a broad range of human beings behavior including language, imitation, cultural transmission, emotions, and social cognition
